My journey so far with my Speediance GM2 looks like this….
I recently turned 58. Two years ago, I suffered a shoulder injury at work that required surgery and a long rehabilitation period.
Before my shoulder injury, I was an amateur boxer in the Masters class. Fifteen months after the injury, I had surgery to repair my shoulder. Unfortunately, the result wasn't as good as hoped, and I had to give up boxing and my beloved motorcycling.
I found that traditional physiotherapy was not helping me with my rehabilitation, and since I could no longer box, I needed something to help me stay fit and get rid of the weight I had gained through increasing inactivity.
I saw an ad for the GM2 on Facebook. After a few months of consideration (the price initially put me off), I finally went to see a demo and decided to buy it.
I mainly use the Wellness+ workouts and am very happy with them. I reported some problems I was having with the program to the AI coach, and it was adjusted. After that, it ran much better.
I'm currently completing the 12-week strength training program. I'm enjoying it so much that I even do the sessions after a 14-hour workday. I'm much more motivated than I was when I was doing my rehab at the gym. I've noticed a significant improvement in both my strength and shoulder mobility. There are still a few things I can't do, but that will improve with time. I also find the food diary feature fantastic. It helps me stick to my diet. Since purchasing the program, I've lost just over 11 kg (24 lbs). I recently bought a body fat scale to better track my progress.
I'm so thrilled with it that I recommend it to everyone I talk to. So far, two acquaintances have bought one based on my recommendation. Overall, I think it's a fantastic device that was worth every penny.
Due to my line of work, I can't post any photos of myself. Here's my current setup, though. I'm thinking about getting a rowing machine in the future to add more variety to my workouts.
